Simple point and shoot pocket camera or an entry level DSLR? These aren’t professional shots – just for my own enjoyment. I have friends who have suggested the FujiFilm Finepix S2950 and the Nikon Coolpix L120.
These are indoor shows and I’m usually fairly close to the stage. I want something that won’t blur (musicians move a lot!) too easily and works well in different lighting. Which of those two up there is the best bet/do you have a better suggestion for me? I’d prefer to keep it under 300 since this is a hobby not a job camera.
Yes, I know. With the bands I see, it’s not an issue.

hello,
I received the canon 50d as a Christmas present. However I am in the very beginning stages of photography and this will be an upgrade from a point and shoot camera that i’ve owned for 2 years. I am wondering if I should exchange this 50d for a lower model such as the canon rebel ti or perhaps a nikon. any suggestion about the camera and if its something I should hold on to and just learn how to use it or step down several grades and start from an entry level dslr?
thank you so much!

Hello.. still trying to settle on which camera will be my first dslr. The info I’ve researched and the advice I’ve gotten have pointed me to the nikon 3100. I’ve also heard good things about the olympus e620. One thing that concerns me is this: someone warned me the nikon 3100 does not have image stabilization. How much of a problem is this? does this mean I will be a slave to the tripod (I want to avoid this!!) Does anyone have a better suggestion for a high-quality entry level dslr (my usage is mostly nature/landsacpe photos and some sports)? Thanks so much

Canon EOS 1000 XS (480$ with kit lens)
Nikon D3000 (450$ with kit lens)
Sony A230 or 330 (around 400$ with kit lens)
All three camera are entry level Dlsr cameras, thats why low in price and in my range too, i’m not pro so it’s good way to enter dslr world. only big difference in the camera above is "live view" in canon. which doesn’t really matter for me. I’m mainly looking for best image quality.
Your suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
