Suffice to say, the T1i is going to be my camera of choice for beginners with a smaller budget. Now this is not to say that the T3 won’t its job…it will! It’s a matter of dollars and sense with a touch of versatility. I think all of us have a bargain shopper within us that is always looking for MORE for less. This is what the T1i will give you! Now my suggestion for the T1i is for those not looking to spend too much on an entry level DSLR, as i would normally push the T2i or T3i. Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think! Compare for yourself and make the decision that will best suit your needs. This is a side-by-side comparison of the most important features that separate the two. I will add this though, the T3 has a more advanced exposure metering system than the T1i, but this is hardly a deal breaker! Canon T3: Canon T1i: 12MP 15MP 2.7in Viewer 3in Viewer 720p @ 30fps 1080p @ 20fps 3.0fps (Burst rate) 3.4fps (Burst rate) Depth of field Button (No) Depth of field Button (Yes) Right around9 Right around9 With only a difference in price, why wouldn’t you consider the latter?! Additionally, the T1i has more dedicated buttons that makes the camera easier to operate allowing you to access all the

DSLR Question– Canon EOS XSi or XS?

What would be a better entry level SLR? I know The XSi has more MP but I doubt that this will make much of a difference because I don’t plan on cropping much or blowing up photos. I’ve heard that both cameras have about the same amount of noise, except the XSi has spot metering. What’s spot metering, is it worth it, and would I just be better off getting the XS and a new lens? Does continuous shooting in raw matter if you’re seasoned with P&S but new to DSLR?

Thanks, any help [hopefully from the more experienced] would be appreciated.

E-PL1 or NEX-3/NEX-5 or GF1?

Hey!

I’m a 13 year old boy in the city and I’m looking for a entry level DSLR.

And I’m stuck between the E-PL1 or NEX-3/NEX-5 or GF1.

I want to be able to take good photos (obviously) and take good, high quality video.

The high quality video is very important because I make youtube videos (http://www.youtube.com/yttobychanthesecond : D) and I’m also hoping that the camera has continuous auto-focus while video recording.

I don’t really care about the size.

I often take really close up photos (just because I think it’s cool), so could you guys also give me any advice on what lenses to choose?

: D

Which one should I choose?

Should I get a Canon 1000d or 1100d?

I am looking to get my first dslr camera, and after getting lots of advice from different people and scouring the net for a good entry level camera I think the canon 1000d and 1100d are the best ones for the budget I have, although the 450d sounds like it’s good too…

Is it worth paying extra to get the 1100d? I would be nice to be able to take videos, but I’m not that bothered really, I’m more interested in photos. Also eventually I would like to be able to buy a decent telephoto lens with stabilization (or now if I can afford it!) so any advice or reviews about them would be great – I’m interested in wildlife photography. If I get the 1000d which is cheaper I would possibly be able to afford a telephoto lens right now too, but would this not be worth it in the long run?

Any reviews, advice, recommendations etc would be really really great as I’m new to all of this.

Final question, you get a 18-55mm lens kit with most canons for a little bit extra, I’m guessing it would be worth me getting this as I have nothing at the moment?

I am a beginner in photography but I need to know which Nikon DSLR to buy.
The D40 and D60 isn’t available anymore, so I am left with the D3000, 5000, and 90.
The 3000 and 5000 are entry level cameras, but I heard the 3000 sucks a lot, so I’m not sure if I should buy that one.

1. Should I go with the 90, 3000, or 5000?
2. Also I want to achieve bokeh, but will that mean I should buy the 35mm f/1.8 OR 50mm f/1.8 lens, too? Or does the regular lens that is provided already create bokeh?

Here are examples of what I mean when I want bokeh:
a) D3000: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leighalouise/4688601502/
b) D80 (I cant find this camera anywhere, so will the D90 be the same in order to get this kind of picture?): http://www.flickr.com/photos/leighalouise/4368593531/
c) D80: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leighalouise/4501035529/

Thanks!
d) D3000:http://www.flickr.com/photos/43520401@N08/4685182685/

^^^^^that picture really looks nice, though, and its taken with a 3000! So now I am really unsure about which to get.
