I recently obtained one of Canon’s DSLRs from Best Buy and so I made an unboxing video. For an entry-level DSLR, it takes great pictures in auto mode but also gives you those manual options for slightly more advanced shooters. I would highly recommend this camera, both to beginners, and professionals with higher performance cameras but looking to buy a secondary camera for events.
& have narrowed down to the Finepix F500EXR & the Cybershot DSC-HX9V
The larger sensor in the Finepix & a high ISO range attract me
The Cybershot has Manual Focus mode which is the main plus for me
Still images in demanding conditions like low light are my primary requirements.
Video capabilities are not important & Megapixel count is meanigless for me, lol
I am fully aware that even entry level dSLR’s have a much larger sensor & total manual controls, but then I cannot lug it around everywhere. Maybe I will get one in a years time or two
Plus my better half simply finds those unwieldy !
Which one will give me better results from among the Finepix & Cybershot
I’m thinking of getting an entry-level DSLR, and I’ve narrowed my search to the Canon Rebel XS and Nikon D3000. I have looked at the specs for each online, but hopefully someone who reads this has actually used both of the cameras. I take frequent night shots, and the Rebel seems to be the best for that, but all of the other features (besides CMOS in the Rebel) seem to favor the Nikon D3000.
I like the 11 point autofocus, battery life, LCD size, in-camera editing, and the airflow control system for dust in the Nikon, and the CMOS, live view, powerful strobe flash, and mirror lock up for the Rebel. The biggest issue I have with my current Panasonic Lumix is grain (I guess it’s common for this camera :/ ) so I want the camera that will produce the best quality (lowest grain) shots both during the day and at night (lots of good night shot opportunities in Arizona), and also the camera that will offer the most as I get better at photography.
If you can help me sort out which camera will be the best for my needs, I’d appreciate it. Overall, both seem to be pretty similar and I’m sure I can’t go wrong either way.
Also, the cheapest I’ve seen these cameras are about 0-0 online. Let me know of any upcoming sales or websites with cheaper prices!
