I am looking for an entry level Digital DSLR camera for under 1000 USD.

I want a nice DSLR camera, but I will just be using it for fun, so I am not willing to spend extra money on it for photo quality. Which DSLR (Body and Lens price together) would be the best for the cost? Also, I like a few effects or custom things you can change. My maximum price would be about 550. Maximum!

I previously asked for recommendations on a non-DSLR camera with little or no shutter lag – but was told that this is an impossibility ! : )

So now I am willing to go up to an (entry level, reasonably priced) D-SLR.

I feel I will mostly be taking photos INDOORS – mostly with flash – but I’d like to try taking some indoor without a flash for a more natural look (if there is enough ambient light).

I may also be taking SUCCESSIVE photos with FLASH.

Therefore, hopefully this camera will have:

- with little or no shutter lag

- good flash refresh times

- good multiple burst (hopefully the ability to use flash with burst)

- of course, good quality photos, with nice detail and colour, little noise, and no overcompensating of noise reduction

- not so bulky (as some DSLRs can be – especially as I originally was going to go with a point and shoot)

- it would be nice if it had movie recording with sound, and a good optical zoom range … (I want everything don’t I …

It will be my first DSLR Camera. I’m intermediate in taking photos…
So i know that the D3100 is excellent for entry-level but, I’m buying the D7000, what do you say?
