Nikon vs. Canon for entry-level DSLR cameras?

This is my first time purchasing a DSLR. I have a somewhat low budget. I have been browsing the canon line for a few weeks, researching. Today I decided on the Canon EOS Rebel T1i as my final choice. I had thought Canon was the best choice for me as far as entry-level DSLRs go, because I had read somewhere that Canons have the most beginner-friendly interface. I had also heard that additional Nikon lenses, flashes, etc. are more expensive and are not always universal to their body models. But I have seen many comparisons of Nikons vs. Canons, and realized that I should probably look into Nikons at least a little before making my purchase. What I really don’t want is to buy a camera and then become too frustrated or confused with its controls to use it to its full potential. This camera is going to be for casual use, nothing fancy. Just to take my pictures and have them look nice, maybe some creative photography, make good quality YouTube videos. So, to anyone with experience in the SLR market: Are Canons easier to use or figure out than Nikons? And to someone with a lower budget, would Canon be a better choice as far as further upgrade costs go? And if I were to look into Nikons, what would be some cameras equivalent to the T1i in the same price range? I am so new to this and would really appreciate the help!
I guess I could also consider throwing Sony into the mix… I hadn’t really looked into that one, but how does it compare with the other two as far as the points I already mentioned?

I am beginning an arts program at college in the fall and will have few photography classes, I have always enjoyed photography as a hobby as well, but only owned cheap P&S cameras and played around with friend’s digital slrs.

I only have around 0 to spend on it, so I am looking at used entry-level digital slrs, I need a versatile camera that can fit my class needs, and one that can grow with me as I explore photography more seriously as a hobby. (Until I can afford to upgrade in a few years)

I have been looking at used Nikons online, since I’ve used and liked the brand before, the D40x with a basic lense (18-55) seems like it could be a good fit

What camera’s would you recommend for someone with my budget and needs?
Would a D40x be the best choice? Or because of its age will it be too far behind in technology etc?
I only have experience with Nikon, but would another brand give me more "bang for my buck"?

Any opinions or recommendations are really appreciated!

Entry-level DSLR Cameras?

Whats currently the best choice for an entry-level dslr camera? Should i pick NIKON or CANON? What model? Accessories that i should buy? Type of lenses? (10 Points)
what about the canon rebel T1i?is it any good?major flaws?not intrested in pentax a bit too pricey..

DSLR choice advice please.?

May I go ahead and state that I prefer Canon.

I currently own a Canon Rebel XTi…
and am looking to upgrade to a more professional camera instead of entry level…

I was curious as to what people thought my best choice would be…

I am on a bit of a budget… (2,000 dollars or below preferably, but if you have a suggestion that is more that is okay too)

I might consider a Nikon… but really want a Canon….

thanks…
I don’t have any lenses other than kit lens…

Which is better Canon 500d/ or Nikon d5000?

I recently Noticed nikon put 12mp Limit on their Entry Level DSLR`S. dunt..know why?
while Canon 500d..is cheaper than the d5000.has higher megapixels..
This is once and for all my Last and Final Question..which one is better. i am not physically going to be able to "Test Drive" the camera themselves..because i am not going to be there.
i asked this to the Photography Experts..which handled the cameras themselves.its up to you..to convince me which one is better. and please dont no dont..answer without any reason.like "both r good..etc"..bblalala..i want answers. which has points in it..etc.u knw?blala..etc..Thanks.

My First Choice is Nikon. because they have been longer in the industry. and the first canon cameras.borrowed nikon Lenses..(look it up on Wikipedia)

my 2nd and Best Choice is 500d..because it has an Amazing Video capture quality at 30fps maybe at 20fps too?The Pictures r Ok..

so thats..it im having troubles deciding..its a freggin damn 0 plus damn cameras..and ive been saving for years.LOL..maybe like a year?lol..

so if i get the which ever Camera i get..im going to buy the good and the best damn Lenses..
I Wanna be a Photographer like you too..*
I Noticed that the Nikon d5000 is godam.n 9 dollars..im not going to be able to afford that one unless someone decides to donate ..i have now Decided. 500d/T1i. k.Thanks..
